One possibility I've read about is how elections could take place in the future. The U.S. Postal Service has a patent on a blockchain voting application, in which a registered voter would receive a QR code in the mail and vote via laptop or desktop computer, smartphone, or tablet. It's a complex process, but it's secure in that it separates a vote from the voter's identity. We shall see, of course!
