At this point try to ge the best storage/waterproof containers /baggies you can find. And save everything for the duration. Depends on the item but most dry goods can last for a long time if stored properly. things like spices although they can get stale things like pepper , salt, cinnamon, cardamon, golden seal, and the list goes on tend to keep for a long time. in fact the ancient peasants used salt as currency.

another good exercise to do is to evaluate your own personal health needs and take an inventory of the area you already know you have ailments in or are likely too down the road and then get the corresponding spices and herbs and store them: i dont go anywhere without tea tree oil, and oregano oil, turmeric , and cinnamon is good to keep on hand because its tasty and its a good one for med reasons too. I dont eat it alot but like keeping it in my med kit in case i run into a diabetic or blood pressure challenged person
