THREAD The TITANIC - The hidden side
As we learned, there were not enough lifeboats for all the passengers and crew. Some left the ship filled to only a quarter of their capacity. The captain gave the strange order to send white flares, knowing full well that the international standard was to send red ones. Other ships that passed within sight of these rockets were intentionally misled into thinking that the Titanic was firing fireworks.
Robin Gardner, in his book "The Titanic, the Ship That Didn't Sink," states, "As we dug deeper into the story, more and more inconsistencies became apparent. Inconsistencies that individually don't say much but collectively converge on a more sinister reality than the one usually portrayed by heroic legend.''
''The officers later hailed as heroes proved just the opposite. One in particular pulled a small boy out of a lifeboat at gunpoint, before escaping in the same boat.''
