Different timeline. Have you heard of the Mandela effect? In that timeline, he was imprisoned for something, I forget what. the data stream crosses dimensional boundaries and the Adversary used it on the regular to spread false information to destroy people. That's why we see "clones" and "doubles" It's really images from alternate timelines.
