the Medicis, Sforzas, Hapsbergs..etc etc
still live on. Napoleon has illegitimate descendants + those of his brother. Hitler does. What about the Caesars and the Borgias? Lots of powerful people trace ancestry back to Charlemagne. Gotta be players we never heard of 🤷🏼‍♀️

There was a pope who fathered something like 200 children. Genghis Khan populated a good portion of the world, as did Alexander the Great. And I do not believe for a second that Queen Elizabeth I was a virgin. For Pete's sake, she was the daughter of Anne Boelyn and Henry VIII. I would even wager she had a couple kids herself. No, she was never married, but she certainly had a few lovers. I wonder how many illegitemate descendents of the Founding Fathers are running around, especially Benjamin Franklin's.

Exactly!
But the real scary bloodlines...ew

Yes, well, inbreeding breeds insanity. Pure bloodlines are not so pure. Fun fact about Catherine de Medici: she introduced the fork to the French court. That changed table service forever! Before that, you used your fingers and a carving knife. Spoons were a thing, but no pronged utensil to spear your food with. The Medicis also invented the banking system. No wonder they became so powerful.
