Amazon fights mail-in ballots for unionization election, cites risk of voter fraud, coercion

Amazon appealed to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) on Thursday to have its warehouse workers in Bessemer, Alabama, vote in-person, rather than by mail, for an upcoming unionization election.

Amazon said a mail-in vote raises the risk of both voter fraud and coercion, and that it could lower voter turnout up to 29%. The company also claimed many employees would likely return incorrectly completed ballot
