There was a Gospel of Q which was written during the time of Christ. Mathew and Luke derived their information from the Gospels of Q. Only fragments remain of the Gospels and the Gospels of Q were refered to in the later Dead Sea Scrolls. The link below explains much of this Gospel of Q.
