South FL used to be a nice place to live, but waaaaay too many ppl there now, and threats of hurricanes and flooding (one way out on each coast). Spy cameras on every large intersection. And Cumbre Vieja across the pond. Higher property taxes, but nowhere near as high as NY, CT, Cali, etc. No state income tax. Hot and humid heavy air makes it hard to breathe outside in summer months. Chemtrails every,single,day 😡

Smokey Mountains in TN and NC are beautiful....lots of greenery, creeks, waterfalls. Low property taxes esp in TN, no state income tax in TN, friendly ppl for the most part. Cold in winter (20s) and several snow days a year.

TX is wide open spaces but lots of activity in big cities. Friendly ppl. Can be hot.

Gov has lifted restrictions, but like most places the individual county leaders have not. However, I don't wear a mask anywhere, and most ppl in the south are too polite to say anything.

So beautiful. I love the peacefulness of country living and all the wildlife. There's even a bear that visits my yard.
This area is quick easy access to NC via I-40..... lots of really quaint little towns in NC. Have a friend in Franklin NC -- it's called the ruby capitol of the world -- lots of gem mining excursions available for rubies, sapphires, diamonds.
This area is also 3.5 hrs from Atlanta, 2 hrs from KY & GA.
My friend near Detroit said it takes her about 11 hours to get here. and she's less than 2 hrs from Canadian border.

That's why I chose this area.
Wanted to be isolated but close enough to be in town in 15-20 minutes .

The world is insane;I had to escape.
When I was analyzing the different possibilities for a move, a Hallmark movie (Jack's Family Adventure) gave me alot to think about. I don't regret my decision. I love the peace that I feel now.
