Exodus 4:2 "The Lord said to him, 'What is that in your hand?' And he said, 'A staff.'”

One of the most well-known men in history; who did great exploits; who is celebrated in books; who is the subject of numerous movies, didn't really start until he was 80. He was just someone who looked after the dumbest animals in the most faraway of places. For 40 years.

Did the Lord demand he learn a new skill to be more useful because he was currently worthless? Did God show up and ask him to do something great which he'd never attempted? Nope.

Moses used that rod every day for 40 years. He slept with it, wielded it with great skill, knew it top to bottom... What are you good, even gifted, at? What do you have with you all the time? A song? A know-how? Maybe you embrace hard work. Perhaps your smile or positivity lights up a room. Whatever you have, you may be thinking, "How can God use that for His glory?" Let God worry about that...

I bet Moses thought, "It's just a stick."
