"Lord" Sumption has a very dodgy (establishment) background: after Eton & Magdelen college he left academia "to make some real money" as a barrister. After serving as advisor to Sir Keith Joseph (conservative MP & cabinet minister) he successfully defended a number of suspect government departments & officials amongst other court cases. He appeared (for the government) in the Hutton Enquiry and received an OBE in 2003. In 2012 he was appointed to the supreme court directly from the bar without ever having served as a judge. In 2020 despite being critical in the media of the government's lockdown legislation he declined an invitation (by other lawyers) to get involved, or help in any way, with the UK resistance movement. Is he controlled opposition ?

I'm just a simple man, no longer playing the game but watching the wheels go round.
Until now he's been vociferous in his condemnation of the government's published guidance & legislation as well as specific police forces' actions. As a sucessful QC & barrister, he clearly knows how to think logically, assess all the evidence and express it succinctly.
