Keep it simple, GOD, Family, Country

In response MARY L. KIRBY BRYANT to her Publication

What version of the Bible did this scripture come from? I thought it read "make it a possession for the porcupine". I am not asking to be challenging. I am aware of the various versions of the Bible and over the course of the last year I have moved from NIV, KJV, KJV 1611 plus apocryptha to NKJV in that order. I am always grateful to see scripture and appreciate the post.

I love my Lord and Savior and my family. Nature and animals are my happy space. People who make me laugh!

KJV Isaiah 14:23
“I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.”

Thank you eagle. I think often it comes down to translation from Greek to Latin to English and unfortunately some have subtracted and added to the written Word. I am learning and a big part of that is reading the Bible everyday.

'besom' in old english is 'broom' (frisian, scottish, etc)
