NEW DELHI, 11 MAR - RIA Novosti. Pakistan will block the popular social network TikTok after the court decision, stated on Thursday the representative of the country’s telecommunications regulator Hurram Mehran.
"The Court asked the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority to block access to TikTok," Mehran informed Dawn, adding that the agency would execute the order.
The Peshawar High Court had previously stated that it was ordering the attachment to be banned, agreeing with the petitioner’s arguments that the attachment was disseminating obscene content. TikTok’s representative in Pakistan said he had heard about the court order and the company would comment later.
The TikTok app was banned in Pakistan last October, but ten days later, the application was cancelled after the developer committed to moderating the accounts in accordance with local laws.
