17 years you say??? My butterfly group people are talking about this and of course I only notice 17 years, locust swarm and DC. Do frogs eat locusts?

They are actually cicadas that look like something from outer space. They breed, spawn and die within a couple of weeks, leaving behind a massive mess that no insect or animal will eat.

They are much larger. About the size of a bumblebee. They really are freaky looking. Picture does not do it justice.
