Twelve U.S. states have filed a lawsuit against Biden over the executive order protecting public health and the environment. The plaintiffs fear that the new powers of the federal government will lead to an increase in the financial burden for ordinary citizens.
Previously, the total amount of" public costs " of greenhouse gases is $9.5 trillion. "In fact, this huge figure will be used to justify a huge expansion of the power of federal regulators to interfere in every aspect of Americans' lives — from their cars to refrigerators, homes, groceries and electricity bills," the lawsuit says.
The lawsuit was filed by Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt. It was joined by Arkansas, Arizona, Indiana, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Utah.
