It sounds to me like they're lowering the bar specifically to help him avoid criminal charges. If they focus entirely on "resignation" and make it seem like that's the uphill battle to be fought, then people will make that their goal and never even consider the penalty that SHOULD be inflicted on him. "Let's give him a slap on the wrist but make it look like it's a full-blown caning." Yes he may have to take the fall in terms of his political career, but he won't spend a minute in prison. That seems to be their strategy here and if people don't demand a much higher bar then the strategy will work.

You see? Cuomo and his people are going to scream and shout about this. Resgination will be their only focus. They'll portray it in a way that it seems so unfair, unjust and horrific. When he's finally forced out of office, people will see it as justice and a victory for our side. Our side cannot allow his side to dictate the narrative. Our side's message needs to be very clear and powerful: "Resignation? When we're through with you, you'll WISH resignation was the worst of your worries."

But I don't expect our side to do this. The Dems and their MSM allies always find ways to control the narrative. And our side never seems to keep their eyes on the prize.
