I have never seen the sky lit up in such a large area. This is at 22:54 hours, EST. The distance rules out the moon. It also appears to be coming form "the ground" - could it be the sun light traveling around the Earth due to so much cloud cover? (turning lets say 12:00 to about 4:00 on a clock)
where is this located? definitely looks like artificial lightning from the ground

Pink / orange is the actual color not showing up. My guess something across the canal or something going on off the coast. Only thing I do know is it has something to do with the low clouds and light rain with the refraction.
