According to online sources, more than 23 MILLION new guns have been sold since January 2020. Most often, people purchase two boxes of ammunition for a new firearm. 23M x 2 x 50 rnds/box. Roughly 2.3B, yes BILLION, rounds.
Anyone wondering why there is an ammo shortage should try to wrap their head around any factory, anywhere in the world, trying to produce 2.3 Billion of anything. Especially something that could explode or cause a fire.

That is some SHOCKING INFORMATION, sir!
I'm absolutely gob-smacked that there are people in this world fool enough to only buy 2 boxes of ammo!
I have more than 500 rounds for my .38, more than 500 for my 410 shotgun, and more than 3000 for my rifle.
I have NO IDEA how many rounds hubs has for his .45, 9mm, 270 & AR15.
Hubs & I had to finally color code the ammo boxes for efficiency! We have a colored sticker on the stock of each gun.
We have a giant side table composed of multi-colored ammo boxes under a nice tablecloth drape.
TWO BOXES!
Hilarious!
