The absolute BEST thing ANYBODY can do is take an insurance video at least once a year. State the date in the video, walk to every room, and state the stuff the video shows (especially the expensive stuff!!) You can't prove what you can't prove. If receipts get ruined, can't prove you ever had the stuff you claim you did.
This is a great suggestion. Store an additional copy at a location besides your home.
