"Meet Rudolf Diesel, Inventor of the Diesel Engine

He once said this:

'The diesel engine can be fed with vegetable oils and would help considerably in the development of agriculture of the countries that use it.'

And this:

'The use of vegetable oils for engine fuels may seem insignificant today.

But such oils may become in course of time as important as petroleum and the coal tar products of the present time.'

Mr. Diesel was found dead floating in the ocean in 1913.

His death was ruled a suicide."

We used to have an old diesel truck that we ran on discarded cooking oil. It smelled like french fries and fried chicken everywhere we went. Ran cooking oil in a tractor also, but it didn't work so well in the tractor. The new diesel engines are crap. You cannot alternate fuel any more.
