The United Kingdom refuses to approve the use of RAF bases by the USA (Diego Garcia and RAF Fairford) for possible strikes on Iran, citing concerns about international law.

It is said that this dispute is behind President Trump's withdrawal of support for the UK's agreement with Mauritius over the Chagos Islands.

The USA is drafting attack plans, but British approval is required — and it has not been given.
