Hey, Democrats.

There is a condition called Body Integrity Identity Disorder (BIID), when someone believes a part of their body IS NOT THEIRS.

When they want to cut off a leg or an arm the medicine's near-universal response is — we treat the mind, not the body. No one who actually loves them, NOT ONE medical professional would recommend limbless affirmative care pretending cutting off a body part treats a mental condition.

Why does the medical community treat one BIID by protecting the body and treating the mind, while treating another BIID by permanently altering the body surgically/chemically?

They go along because most people who go along with things are afraid of social pressure, fear of being labeled bigoted, and deference to institutional authority saying "the science is settled." The same institutional authority that abandoned its own foundational principles under political pressure.

And insurance companies and clinics went along because treatment equals lifelong
