I had a friend who used to play on our pool league team, She was elderly, on oxygen, and eventually she was on hospice care. She had an episode and was then in the hospital on life support and we knew she probably would not be back. Her family finally decided to pull the plug and our team actually had a pool league game the night we got that news. We all went to the opponent’s bar and everyone on both teams stopped for some prayers and a moment of silence, hugging and crying for our friend. It was a tough night.

As part of unplugging, they stopped her meds. Her family stayed with her all night. Not gone yet, they were simply waiting. She startled everyone when she woke up and asked loudly why everyone was in her room. She regained her health to the degree of coming back to play on our team for some time after that. Any time anyone asked, “weren’t you dead?” she laughed and got the biggest kick out of telling her story.

She is gone now, for real, but we did have some more years

Wow, so removing the meds, she was left to pass away and instead, she lived. That's wonderful!

Yes indeed, a story I will never forget!
