I found info on Reddit, and then discovered Lycos.com stated this:

"Lycos services are experiencing a temporary outage. To our loyal users of Tripod and Angelfire we apologize and appreciate your patience while we work to restore service as soon as possible. Mail users can now access mail at webmail.lycos.com"
