Why would they ask her, and what connection does she even have to 9/11 that wouldn't be tied to something nefarious, is the million dollar question?

Perhaps one should ask what interest HE has in forming such a commission, against whom is the suspicion directed? The fact that he asks her may be because she was his friend and had excellent connections.
