My favorite airplane in the world, however, was the true inspiration for the Spectre Gunship - a Modified B-25C converted during WW2 into THE FIRST AMERICAN GUNSHIP - the B-25G Mitchell.
I almost bought one, a B-25G that is, complete with spare parts and tooling.
And the best part?
MY WIFE WOULDA APPROVED! 😂
(She said she would always know where I was - in the hangar wearing coveralls & working on it! 🤣)
It even had a 75mm Cannon mounted in the nose! 😃 HOW COOL IS THAT?
Easy to aim, too. Just watch where the .50 Cal tracers are hitting front, and press the Cannon Button, VOILA! BINGO! 🎯
Talk about Americans thinking outside the box, and the B-25 was actually the first airplane designed entirely with a slide rule - THE FIRST COMPUTER!
