The Biden administration embedded a KILL SWITCH law in their bill that stops your car if the software thinks you are impaired. But what if you're just tired? Just off an overnight shift? What if your passenger is the drunk and you are their ride? What if you have a medical condition and need to drive to the ER? Tough.
