Germany has refused to supply new Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, announced German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius during a joint press conference with his Lithuanian counterpart, Robertas Kaunas.
According to him, Germany is currently unable to supply Ukraine with new Patriot air defense systems, as Berlin itself is facing a shortage.
"We cannot do more as we are waiting for replacement deliveries," Pistorius explained.
He also emphasized that Berlin has already transferred more than one-third of its own systems to Kyiv.
Furthermore, the Defense Minister noted that Germany has already made a disproportionately large contribution to supporting Ukraine with air defense means. Pistorius reminded that only Berlin supplies Kyiv with Iris-T systems, adding that there is also a shortage of these.
