I'm a CCW, always carry 2 guns.
When I get pulled over for a traffic infraction (rarely) I do the following before the Law Enforcement Officer approaches my truck...

1) I roll all the windows DOWN on my Driver's side.
2) I put my Driver's License and Insurance on the dash.
3) I put both my hands on the steering wheel where the Officer can see them, holding the steering wheel firmly BOTH HANDS.
4) When the Officer arrives door-side and says, "Hello", I greet him back and say the following, "Hello Officer, I am a CCW, I am armed, and I MEAN YOU NO HARM."
5) Then when the Officer says "OK, thank you" then I SLOWLY grab my Drivers License and Insurance and hand it over, keeping my hands in plain view.
6) Every time the Officer approaches my truck my hands are glued back to that steering wheel OUT OF RESPECT & PRUDENCE, so my body language tells that officer I mean them NO HARM.

So far, I always ended up with just a warning, no ticket, and the LE Officer and I going about our business.
