JUST IN CASE, because power outages do occur...
If your home loses power for an extended period and you're worried that your pipes might freeze & burst...AND you don't have a wood stove or fireplace...then do this.👇

Find your main water supply valve and shut it off. If you have a basement or crawlspace, look there. It might also be out in the front yard under a cover. If you have a well, turn that off.

THEN, open every spigot in the house, including the outside hydrants and your hot water heater (should have a drain) - drain it.

If you have any pink RV anti-freeze pour that into your toilet bowl and sink drains.

THEN AFTER THE POWER RETURNS, close spigots, then open the main water valve, SLOWLY and check everywhere for leaks. If you find one, shut off the valve again - make the repair.
