And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

SIMPLIFIED VERSION

And the Messiah shall confirm the covenant with many for seven years (AD 27–34): and in the middle of those years (AD 31), He shall be cut off by death, causing the animal sacrifices to cease by offering His own blood. For the remaining 3.5 years, He shall continue to confirm the promise through His witnesses, until the message overflows to the Gentiles and the rejected Temple is left desolate.
