If Cell Towers go down & you have iPhone 14 or newer, you have Satellite Text Messaging
1. Activation:
* When no cellular signal is detected, a notification prompts you to connect to satellite services.
2. Connecting:
* Open Messages app or tap notification
* Follow on-screen instructions to aim your phone at sky for satellite connection
3. Sending Messages:
* Messages may take ~30 seconds to send under ideal conditions.
* A clear view of sky is necessary for effective communication.
* Coverage:
* Available in U.S., Canada, Mexico & Japan
* Free for 2 years after activating an eligible iPhone.
* Emergency Use:
* For emergencies, use the Emergency SOS on Settings instead of regular messaging.
* Performance:
* Messages may take longer to send in areas with dense foliage or obstructions
