If your car is newer than 2010 you may want to consider getting an older model

My car is a 2004, runs fine, with a hatchback and 4 wheel drive. My mini truck.

Little to none
I can’t get approved for anything
Never have been able to so I just don’t try anymore and pay in cash when I have too
Happens if you’re poor enough

With mechanical skills I have been able to pick up vehicles over the years for cheap because I know how to fix them
I paid 500$ for my truck 10 years ago and have maybe put 2k$ into it since
Basic wear items that have to be replaced periodically

Sounds good. It's really great to be able to repair your own vehicle especially since many mechanics are rip-off artists. I can't do that.

It definitely helps to know how it also helps to have an understanding of how vehicles work and what parts do what
Most mechanics and other professionals (like politicians) count on peoples ignorance
You can gain a lot of insight on some YouTube videos
