It's some kind of NON-HUMAN thing. Just my 2-cents.
Apparently she and others with that mentality have no idea what a 'Passport' is 🤦♀️.
To VISIT any country in the world, permission is required from that country's authorities; hence 'passport stamps'.
To RESIDE in any other country in the world, the visitor must apply, which involves comprehensive identifying paperwork and may also include depositing substantial sums of money into one of their financial institutions or making an investment in their country. The reasoning is sound -- they want productive immigrants, not drains on or threats to their society.
The mess in America and GB is a prime example of an unmonitored swinging door.
