Jay Silverheels, a member of the Mohawk Aboriginal people in Canada, played the Lone Ranger's Native American companion The famous phrase yelled by the Lone Ranger as he rode off into the sunset, often accompanied by the theme music (Rossini's William Tell Overture), was "Hi-Yo, Silver! Away!," a hearty cry to his faithful horse, Silver, signaling their departure to fight for justice and law and order.
