Moon Keeps Us

We were taught
to travel quietly,
So the land
could hear us.

Endurance was learned
by listening
to the body
and not asking it
to hurry.

Compassion meant
carrying another’s weight
without lifting it away,
without turning it
into our own story.

Protection lived
in awareness—
eyes open,
hands gentle,
presence steady.

The ancestors taught this
by example,
by how they moved
through night
without fear.

What remains with us
is a simple knowing:
walk with care.
move with respect,
and let the moon
watch over
What you carry.
