Today we mourn the loss of DC MPD Officer Terry Bennett, 32, a dedicated public servant who gave his life helping others on I-695.

Officer Bennett was a young father, a husband and an 8-year veteran of the MPD. His courage and commitment to the community will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts are with Officer Bennett’s family, friends, and fellow officers. May he rest in peace.
