and while im at it....and i havent looked this up...how long can you be here before you become a citizen?...here it is..You can live in the U.S. indefinitely without ever becoming a citizen — as long as you maintain a valid immigration status. There is no law that forces anyone to become a U.S. citizen after a certain number of years. Citizenship is optional.
