Why Should Children Not Use Elevators Alone?

Elevators are equipped with advanced safety systems, yet young children should not use them alone. Power failures, sudden stops, or door malfunctions may cause panic or unsafe behavior inside the cabin.

Modern elevators feature an Under Load Function, which prevents operation if the cabin load is below a preset minimum, typically around 30 kg.

This ensures a child alone cannot operate the elevator, promoting adult supervision. Supported by load sensors and control systems, under-load protection adds extra safety.

Combined with supervision, it makes elevators significantly safer for children, providing peace of mind for parents and building occupants. Check out Elevator Safety Tips for Kids.
