Part 1- I made the mistake of having my husband vaccinate his cat that stayed at his construction business because everyone came in and held him. Buddy loved people like a dog loves people. I will never have or ask anyone to vaccinate any animal ever again.
The poor thing developed a nasty type rash above one eye on its forehead they he would continually dig into…and despite a couple of intensive treatments sessions by the vet, I finally persuaded my husband to have the poor thing put down after his last 6 months it was eroded down almost to the skull. It was the most pitiful thing you ever saw. My soft husban kept hoping he would let better. The last treatment along with the meds was forced enclosure in the building ( which in itself is hell for an independent cat) & wearing an Elizabethan collar to keep him from digging into it. It got some better, but occasionally he could hit his head over something in frustration of not being able to reach it with his paws.

Part 2- My husband would not understand. Finally the day came 6 weeks or so later when the collar came off…before the day was over he had torn the top of his head off again. Husband finally gave up & had the vet come & put him down.

I can’t tell you how guilty I felt about suggesting Buddy gets his ‘shots’. As it turns out, a single SHOT from a gun would have been far more merciful than the several years of torture he suffered.
