We lived in 1 privately owned base house facility, in AK - and they did a good job...
The other in DE...
They offered us a house that had chipped kitchen floor tiles, a giant hole in the back yard from the previous occupants dog, (that they expected US to fix), and a refrigerator water dispenser that was uutterly disgusting... and not offer to replace or make good
We found an off base house that was located in a spot that was actually faster to get onto the flightline than the house they wanted us to take.
That was our last assignment before hubs retired... full of cronyism.
They are now renting military housing to civillians... one has to wonder at the security issues that creates - after all, military folk have to provide a military ID to get onto the facility... and with millions of aggressive foreign nationals in country... it seems like a very bad idea to me.
