REMINDER about POWER OUTAGES in Wintertime:

If you don't have a reliable back up generator or wood stove/fireplace to keep home heated during a more extended Winter power outage (which can always happen), KNOW WHERE YOUR MAIN WATER SHUT OFF IS. It's usually located in the front yard or basement or crawl space.

If power goes out and your house is in danger of freezing, SHUT OFF MAIN WATER VALVE, then open all your spigots in sinks and outdoors and flush toilets. Try drain our water pipes and everything as much as possible.
BUY SOME jugs of Pink RV antifreeze (non-toxic), keep it handy and in a freeze even pour into toilet bowls, tanks and sink drains to keep traps/tanks from freezing/cracking.

Then when freeze is over SLOWLY open main water valve and watch for any burst pipe leaks, and if one found then SHUT OFF and get it repaired immediately.

THAT MIGHT SAVE YOUR HOUSE from flooding from a ruptured/frozen fresh water pipe.

Also Worth Remembering Go to You Lowest Specket/Tap ( out let, like Hot waster heater or Toilet ( if in Basement Or First Floor} Hot Water heater Same First or Second Floor}

And Maybe save Water in Bath Tube If Needs Must for Flushing If U cant Leave The Home and Have To hot Tent in the Home....
