It’s the time of year when I wish my Christian friends Merry Christmas and my Jewish friends Happy Hanukkah. I have instinctively now started saying, “Stay safe.” And every single one of my loved ones understands what I mean.

What has traditionally been the most joyous time of the year has become a time of lockdown and fear. And we all know why. At some point we are going to have to decide we are not going to live like this any longer.
