I honestly do not know, but a company where I used to work would grant us one more day if it was a Monday or a Friday just to make it a long weekend for that holiday in that year, just not to make us show up in the office for one orphaned day. That way ppl were not all mixed up using vacation, just to have others still show up and not have all the team players or support resources needed.
