Levi Aron, the man convicted of the 2011 kidnapping and murder of 8-year-old Leiby Kletzky in Brooklyn, died at a hospital in Erie County, New York, on December 3, 2025, at the age of 49.
He was serving a 40 years to life sentence at Wende Correctional Facility for the crime.
Aron had been transferred to the hospital in late August 2025 due to an unspecified medical condition, and his death was expected by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
The cause of death has not been publicly disclosed
