A 2021 publication of DNA evidence showing a DNA match with 99.99% accuracy that Omar married her brother - was posted online hours before Anton Lazzaro -who published it - was arrested on federal child sex trafficking charges .
The timing has fueled accusations of a coordinated effort to bury the story.
The accusations date back to 2016, when anonymous posts on Somali online forums first exposed Omar, a Somali migrant who married her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, in 2009 to help him evade immigration restrictions.
