Many years ago my friend was working in Abu Dhabi. He said there was very little crime there and they did not even lock their doors. Why? They caught a man on a Monday that had broken into a house and raped a woman. He was tried on Tuesday and hung in the public square on Wednesday. Killing criminals 12 years after their crime is not a deterrent but killing them while fresh in the public eye is a proven fact.
