The Pilgrims started with socialism.
Everyone worked the fields together. Everyone got equal rations. Nobody owned anything. No incentive. No productivity. No future.
And guess what happened?
Starvation. Resentment. Half the colony nearly died. The “collective good” nearly wiped them off the map.
Then Governor William Bradford did something you’re not supposed to talk about in woke society:
He abolished the collective. Gave every family their own land. Said “you keep what YOU produce.”
And BOOM the entire colony flipped in one season.
Food everywhere. Massive harvest. Prosperity. A turnaround so dramatic they held a feast to celebrate not just survival…
…but the discovery of individual enterprise, property rights, and the power of personal responsibility.
