If the businessman was offended by his Pastor’s admonition that he shouldn’t spend his life acquiring as much money as he can so that he can retire and play golf instead of using his life and resources in the service of the Kingdom of God, it is because he was consumed with the things of this life and the pleasures of this present world instead of the things of God.
