The amount of pain you are in when you are a diabetic can raise your sugar levels higher! (at least in my personal and a friends experiences).
I have been on the Alpha Lipoic acid for a little while now, about a month and went to the Doc's today. I lost 6 pounds, which doesn't sound much but for me in a month was decent! Been a struggle for a long time! Having the ALA is helping with heart too!
Blood pressure was 135 over 84, excellent says the Doc!
And my bad cholesterol came down too!
The first great notice, was that the Alpha Lipoic Acid reduced and eliminated the neuropathic pain in my Achilles heels. According to the foot doc, I was bursting the ligaments on a regular basis, which produced bumps on my heels. I was living through that pain daily and did not realize it was so bad until nothing else worked.
So I am living proof that the ALA is working for diabetics and neuropathy!!! Now guess who is telling her other patients about it!!!

There is no such thing as "bad cholesterol". There is only one cholesterol, which is absolutey essential and important for many regulation processes inside the body (it's also the basis for the most important stress hormone cortisol). Normal value is between 250 and 350 mg/dl. Lowering it with statins is the worst thing you can do. And HDL and LDL are not cholesterols, but lipoproteins which serve as transport substances for cholesterol from and to the liver. If they are increased this just means the body needs more transport substances for cholesterol.
