As part of the "Operation Safe Road" investigation, Ryan was convicted of racketeering, mail fraud, and other charges, leading to his 78-month prison sentence.
The investigation focused on a bribery scheme that allowed unqualified truckers to get CDLs through illegal means.
This corruption scandal also led to the convictions of several of Ryan's top aides and associates.
